CAM Programmer

Job Summary:
The CAM Programmer will use CAD and CAM software to create surface and solid models and program the company’s 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machines used in the development and manufacture of prototype and experimental aircraft. The candidate must be a team player, flexible, detail oriented, and a problem solver. This position is an Engineering Technician position. The CAM Programmer will report to the CAM Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Use CAD software to create surface and solid models
• Use CAM software to create toolpaths used to machine the resulting shapes
• Support the CNC machine operators when CNC programs are being run
• Operate CNC machines as required
• Define rough stock shape and size and define the associated support structure
• Track and document work products from definition through production
• Interact with engineers to advise on machining viability

• Experience in 3D CAD and CAM software
• Experience in programming and operating CNC machines (Tormach, Haas, etc.)
• Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship

• Proficiency in Catia V5 or Siemens NX
• Experience with composite tooling and fabrication
• DOD Secret Clearance
• Additional relevant training or work experience

Essential Functions:
• Occasional lifting 50+ lbs. Maintain steady hand and controlled arm position
• Standing 80% of the day
• Push and/or pull heavy support stands; stoop, bend, stretch and work in cramped, tiring, uncomfortable positions
• Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for assigned task
• Occasional pushing of heavy tools and tables (75-100 + lbs., with assistance)
• Manual dexterity and coordination are required (e.g., to operate computer keyboard), and manual dexterity to handle small parts
